Behind The Scenes At Treehouse's New Shoot

A sneak preview of a new editorial to be appearing on the Treehouse site soon. A collaboration between Anna Mackie and Giovanny Estrella- http://giovannyestrella.co.uk/
Make up artist Tara Steel joined the team too. See her work here http://www.tarasteelmakeupartist.co.uk/
Model Ilana Garrard, now signed to LMP models worked her stuff.
The theme is about globalisation and refers to the global/ethnic/travel style trend as well as reflecting shabby chi and make-do-and-mend which is a big trend for 2010!

Stills From Upcoming Treehouse Film 'Clear Is The Past'

I am currently editing a new fashion film which evokes hazy summer childhood memories. It gives a sense of nostalgia for times gone by when everything was simple and nothing was ever complicated. Escapism from modern life and the grim state of society, the economy and politics! Coming soon!

Kelis Acapella

LOVE Kelis's new song and the video is fabulous too. I am really pleased with the way vocal artists are taking on board the new genre of fashion film and spending time making inspirational and dramatic music videos to reflect the changing times and technology and the power of the Internet and social media!

A Film By Mariano Vivanco For Swarovski And Dazed And Confused

Summer feeling, floaty, dreamy, layered images and over-layed movement make
for a beautiful promotional fim for Swarovki commissioned by fashion film pioneer
Dazed and Confused.

Lily Donaldsons Flying Hair From New Luxury Website NOWNESS

I came across new luxury website Nowness launched by LVMH. I adore
this film featuring Lily Donaldson, he hair, a wind machine and nothing else.
What is so special about this film? Well for me it is the incredible
movement, shapes, imagery created just by Lily's hair moving. It is
so simple, yet so veryeffective. I think it is also a nice touch
that Lily's dad, photographer Matthew Donaldson shot the film. It is
just really very beautiful and moving...

Behind The Scenes At Twin Magazine

Freja is one of my favourite models of the time. I love her androgyny, especially
in this behind the scenes video from her Twin Magazine shoot. I am very fond of the
heroin chic imagery of the nineties and that style (specifically in the location) is
referenced here.

Another Magazine

Romantic and simple. The fabric billowing and creating shapes and concealing the
model has a really nice feel to it.

Interview Magazine Lara Stone

Really keen on the editing in this film. It is only a behind the scenes from
Interview Magazine's Lara Stone shoot but it works well. The music and the
flashing images create a fluid relationship with one another and in turn
convey an appropriate sensibility to the viewer. Very fresh.

Come As You Are

Literally obsessed with this film featuring clothes horse of the moment
Abby Lee Kershaw. The feel is just so captivating and makes you yearn for
summer days gone by. Very inspired by the post production techniques.
Especially the tinted overlays and flickers of saturation combined with 'normal'
colour and the odd hint of monochrome. Lovely. The song works perfectly too.

Numero

Monochrome mixed in with flickering colour and hazy, grainy effects. I am drawn to
the imperfect, slightly 'off' feel to this short piece. Brief, but quirky and effective.

Warpaint

Great alternative music video from Warpaint. Really edgy use of post production
techniques. Liking this a lot.

Crystalline for Richard Nicholl by Kathryn Ferguson

This film featuring the late Daul Kim is so moody and atmospheric and
shows what can really be done with moving image and skilled editing.
I just love the feel of this short video.

Precious Stones

I came across this book when I was at Zen Studios in Clapham helping out on the Katie Eary film for Kathryn Ferguson. Nature is a source of powerful influence on so many things and I think these crystals are so beautiful and the light and the colours astounding.

James Jean and Prada Spring Summer 2008

I remember these Prada advertisements really standing out and as I draw much of my inspiration from nature I did some research and stumbled upon James Jean's website. These images speak for themselves- INCREDIBLE SKILLS!

Back To Basics: Patti and George

Source: Style Rookie

I adore this photograph of Patti Boyd (her autobiography is gripping) and George Harrison. The simplicity, the snap-shot aesthetic (again)/home picture attracts my eye. The colours are glorious and the mood is complete nostalgia and back to basics. This photograph really does something to me and makes me yearn for times gone by...

Set Design Inspiration

Shabby chic is really doing it for me right now and I always love a set that uses everyday random objects in a stylish way. I like the mix of upper class decor and skip junk...

Trembled Blossoms By Prada

This cgi motion graphics by Prada gave me something to think about.
In general I am impressed by the concept and the fact that it doesn't
look like every other moving image for luxury fashion brands to use
as a promo tool. However, as baffled as I am by the actual technology,
I think that once I had the tools to make something of this nature, I
could have made it look a bit sleeker and more exciting...

Natalia

Natalia always looks like perfection but I like her ability to convey many different characters and moods. The snapshot aesthetic of these photo's appeals to me. Heroin chic is by far my favourite period in fashion photography so that look will always draw me in. The film reel border is something to think about too.

Prey

I hate when birds actually fly over me, but on film and in static images they are disgustingly attractive to me. Enjoying the juxtaposition of the dove and the hard faced beauty too.

Danny Roberts

Source: http://igorandandre.blogspot.com/

Danny Roberts illustrations are the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing drawings I have seen in a long time. The use of line, the imperfections, the subject matter. It's all perfect to me. He also posts some inspiring photographs which I keep an eye on. But mainly it's his skill with a fine liner and the way he depicts the models and the catwalk clothes we all lust for...
